WDAY Honor Flight Numbers

Sons and daughters say one of their favorite parts of
the trip was spending time with Dad.

The first WDAY Honor Flight took off from Fargo in May of 2007. In so doing, it became one of the first groups in the nation, and the first in the Upper Midwest,  to send World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their memorial. Because of the success of that first flight, WDAY, along with a core committee of dedicated volunteers decided to do three more flights.

The WDAY  Honor Flights, with the help of a very generous community, has raised approximately $1,000,000 to send more than 900 veterans, free of charge, to Washington D.C. The first four flights took place between November 2006-June 2008 and involved WWII veterans. The committee took a hiatus until the spring of 2015 when some members of the previous committee decided to reform and re-start the project, this time taking not just WWII Veterans, but Korean War veterans as well. Because of this, the name was officially changed from WDAY WWII Honor Flight to WDAY Honor Flight.
